The word ‘fashion’ seems so one-dimensional. People who don’t take time to consider fashion think there is only one route ‘to follow the fashion’. The trick is making ‘the fashion’. Demonstrate that difference from those who follow. Most designers don’t follow; they create original fashion items that are often living breathing pictures of themselves. Such designers impart their personality to their garments. Christobal Balenciaga described the role of the designer as “An architect for design, a sculptor for shape, a painter for colour, a musician for harmony and a philosopher for temperance.”
